When you’re dealing with organization, some of the simplest closet solutions can be the most effective.
One of the fastest way to gain more room in your closet is with specialized hangers.
Tiered hangers can be your best solution to fitting more garments in your space. A tiered blouse hanger, for example, holds four to six blouses in the space one usually takes.
Tiered skirt and pants hangers work the same way. Alternatively, a product like the Wardrobe Wizard gives the same effect but allows you control over how you arrange the garments.
If you’re left with a large area of your closet that isn’t being utilized, there are many products that can help you get the most out of that space.
If you have an area of wall going unused, try putting different kinds of hooks up. They can hold handbags, ties, scarves, or hats.
If the unused wall space is accompanied by unused floor space just below it, try a set of stacking shelves for some of these items, or a set or two of stacking baskets. These are great closet solutions for purses and shoes.
Space Bags are a great thing for out of season clothes and blankets. You fill them with your garments and use the nozzle on your vacuum cleaner to take all the air out.
An infomercial favorite, these bags end up being just a couple of inches thick, easy to slide behind your hanging garments or up on overhead shelves.
They’re also watertight and bug proof, so you can store them in the basement without worries of flooding or infestation. When you unzip the bags, your garments pop back to normal.
If you have drawers in your closet, organize them as well. Get some drawer dividers or bins meant to go in drawers.
You may be surprised at how much you can fit in a drawer when everything in it is subdivided. Sock organizers, undergarment bins, and drawer liners, all add to that feeling of being organized.
